The signs have various functions. Some are directional, others are informational telling clients what services the bank offers, some signs have been used as poster frames and marketing publication stands.
What was the customer/designer looking for from a design standpoint?
They were looking for a sign system that could also be used for their marketing requirements
What were the cost considerations?
Budget is always important, but they needed a high quality product that was cost effective.
What were the delivery considerations?
Delivery schedules were tight, as they had to open the first branch in less than two weeks
What did the customer request, what needs did they present and what problems did they need solved?
They needed a custom sized frame for the posters to accommodate the standard Nedbank size poster. The signage was the easy part, but the poster frames for both the wall mounting and freestanding units needed to be customised. After designing a special end cap this too was made very easy.
What were the most important challenges you faced as a sign maker (cost, delivery time, design functionality…)?
Delivery time was the biggest concern because of the first branch opening.
What problems did you run in to? (Manufacturing? Price? Technical? …)
We had to come up with a solution to include custom fabricated acrylic brochure holders into the Vista frames
How did you solve them?
We were able to laser cut slots into the Vista extrusions so we could clip the brochure holders into the frames.
How long did it take to complete the project?
The first branch took just under two weeks.
Describe if and how MCFT played a part in the project.
A specially designed end cap was made to accommodate the Nedbank poster sizes
Having completed about 10 branches the client was so impressed with the Vista system that they have placed an order for 150 branches.
