Vista System International, a fast growing Israel based pioneer and world leader in modular curved frame technology, is proud to be sponsoring Wade May, Sales and Marketing Manager of Red Hand Sign Supplies, its sole South Africa distributor, brother-in-law Mark Green, and close friend Sean Blair as ‘Team Vista’ reaches for the clouds while cycling in races throughout South Africa. Spectators should watch for this highly competitive trio wearing bright orange Jerseys with the high-tech Vista System International logo in white lettering.

The Cape Argus cycle race is the premier cycle event in South Africa, and the world’s largest timed event with over 36,000 entries in 2005, including professional, licensed, seeded and novice riders. Participants need to participate in a number of seeding events first to be able to participate in the Argus Cycle Tour. They include the following 2004 events: Liberty Ride for Sight (112 km), Argus Cycle Tour (108 km, 42,000 entries last year), Cradle Classic (105 km), and the Pick n’ Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge (94.7 km and 24,000+ entries in 2004 and World’s 2nd largest timed event).

Team Vista members did remarkably well in the Argus Cycle Tour 2005 which took place in Cape Town South Africa on March 13, 2005, in wind conditions the worst recorded in 12 years, and saw a number of cyclists blown from their bicycles. Although the wind reached speeds of 32-40km/h, the team finished the 108 km in approximately 4 hours apiece with an average speed of just under 30 km/h.

Cycling is the 3rd largest sport in South Africa with both recreational and more serious riders. ‘Team Vista’ is not a professional team, and participates in the seeded category where they are looking at constantly improving their seeding. Their participation in the sport is serious enough that Mark has attained 26 medals, Sean 12, and relative newcomer Wade already has 6. They practice on average 5 days a week and cover a distance of 300 to 400 km, and plan to ride in 1-2 races or more per month. This helps seed them for upcoming events.

Vista System International will be adding a special ‘Team Vista’ link from its www.vistasystem.com homepage. Everyone is encouraged to visit the website regularly for the latest updates by event on their time, where they placed in their group, seeding in their country according to age, and quite possibly photographs.
